All the feels with this post..the feelings, the anxiety build up, the raw emotions, they are real and part of healing. Holding onto those things only delays the healing of the physical part. Now that you’re emotionally healing, which everyone does on their own timeline, it will give space to the physical. It is frustrating, it is demanding, it is daunting, BUT one of the amazing things about the body, it has a great memory! Keep doing you, add in No stupid shit, and you will progress quicker than you thought possible.
That emotional bottleneck was holding back the physical healing way more than I wanted to admit.
Now that the feelings finally got their airtime, my body will catch up— slowly, stubbornly, but surely. And hell yes to “no stupid shit” being the golden rule right now 😂
Feeling this now! Broke my elbow a week ago, needed surgery, felt and feels like shit (though I can still train legs and cardio so not awful) and I’ve just switched my thinking to this being a specialisation phase to finally bring up my legs and cardio, with a godawful plan to hit legs one day and 1hr exercise bike the second, and repeat! Seeing how you’re pushing through is really motivating me too, and hopefully both of us make a speedy recovery!
I'll be right there beside you as soon as my foot is better— from the 3 main injuries of mine, it's the closest to normal, so I'll be running and training legs multiple times a week pretty soon HAHAHA.
Keep me posted, bruh, we'll amp up each other to get back into full force mode!
Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, you will meet the challenges that lay before you with renewed appreciation for making progress overtime. You are the Master Motivator, and you have a whole crowd of people cheering you on! Take each day as it comes, and live in the present. That's what we all have to do, and I know you will look ahead instead of behind because the past makes no difference on where you are going.
Appreciate you reminding me that the fire doesn’t just destroy—it REFORGES! I’m walking forward, one wobbly step at a time, with your words in my back pocket, bruh!
Let’s keep rising, my friend. One present moment at a time.
Wow man, hittin the feels hard here, i get it. When you need help carrying in the bag with 2 cartons of milk, and anything heavier than your cat make you double over in pain and all the world have a lot of weird sharp colors suddenly it hits you in the feels. Especially if you are middle ahed and "im not what i was" has already been in your head recently. Being past the times of my late twenties and early 30s where i could say things like "if i could get a good grip on it anyhing 200lb and smaller i could one arm and walk off with and now etf 2 plate deadlift if i do too many reps i need straps?!?! SINCE WHEN. Then you explode your back. YOU HAVE ALL THE FEELS!
I can tell you, for sure, YOU WILL BE BACK. Dig into the feels, use them as fuel, and you know HOW TO TRAIN SMART, put your knowledge to good use and use it to come back.
As i know you well to be a proud parent. What if this had happened to your daughter, what example would you want to point to to show how to recover? BE THAT EXAMPLE! In all ways, how to train to get your life back, but also how to manage all the emotions you feel like you have no time for. Own them and use them, learn from them.
You pride yourself on being a coach. This is the opportunity to LEAD BY EXAMPLE how to come back from a fucked up mess. Its gonna suck man but you got your online friends and family right here. Lean on us and you get your shit done.
We just expect a vid here and there of lift progress.
Also check your email i sent you one today from my own comeback.
Thanks for sharing. You got this, bro. Rest easy & heal well & quickly (but most of all, safely & completely, inside & out, mentally/ emotionally/ spiritually/ physically)

Yo good on you and your “mad pipes”. Music can be so therapeutic, especially when you’re down. Glad to hear your finding ways to cope.
