Swimming & running/jogging ARE THE BEST— but do whatever form of cardio you like.

Stronger heart, stronger lungs, and stronger brain; The three organs that when they get weak your life becomes miserable until you inevitably die.
You get lean and stay lean WAY easier.
You can eat and drink anything without fear of getting fat, if you feel too skinny do less cardio, if you feel too puffy do more.
You improve your sexual prowess, both sex hormone profile and endurance to do crazy monkey stuff.
Improved cognition and sense of well-being, thinking clearer, learning faster, less anxiety, less depression, less stress.
You learn to endure difficult situations, which EVERYONE has to face from time to time.
You can defend yourself better, just run away to avoid confrontation or if you can’t you’ll be light on your feet to avoid getting hit and have the endurance to outlast your opponent, which btw, by about 20–30 seconds avoiding getting knocked out is enough for the average sedentary dufus to be gassed out and then you can pick your opponent apart.
I can go on and on forever here, cardio, specifically running is our BEST ability as humans, in the ENTIRE animal kingdom, we are the animal that can run LONGER than any other, the most resilient animal.
Humans being so feeble compared to other animals, used to hunt other animals by Persistence Hunting, this means, we stalked our prey until it was so tired that we could finish it off with very little effort, it’s why we stand on two legs, transpire a lot and have very little amounts of hair, it’s to preserve energy and cool the body so we can keep going.
When you embrace this primal activity you’ll see how fucking RIGHT everything feels after you already earned your day with a light session of running.

Nothing against the article, but pretty sure Kal is saucing. I feel it should be every man’s choice, but sometimes I think it’s worth pointing out most people over 40 can’t make that transition that quick without a little “help”. Let me know if you disagree and think that’s all natural gains.
