UNDERSTAND MIND MUSCLE CONNECTION
Your Central Nervous system AKA your brain and its wires that run along your entire body govern EVERYTHING inside you, every single sensation, emotion, action, adaptation EVERYTHING is only made possible by that BIG TUBE we call the brain.
We already know that MIND-MUSCLE CONNECTION, your ability to deliberately channel your perception to the contraction in a specific muscle group is directly correlated to that muscle's potential for hypertrophy, its potential to get bigger.
That’s because a motor unit, is the combination of a motor neuron that communicates with the brain with the muscle fiber, that generates the contraction— reinforcing that synapse between motor neuron and brain equals MORE GAINZ, BABY!
To understand how to train your mind-muscle connection first, you need to understand SENSATION & PERCEPTION.
SENSATION is non-negotiable, your senses will always be scanning your environment you can't just turn it off, your vision, hearing, and sense of touch, they're always there doing their thing but PERCEPTION is deliberate, it’s when you drive your attention to a particular sensation, for instance, if you drive your perception to your feet touching the ground or your shoes, your attention makes you SUPER AWARE of everything that's going on inside your shoes.
That’s exactly what you have to do with the muscle, feel it, sense it, unfortunately, it’s a little harder than feeling your feet, but with practice, you can master it.
When you deliberately focus your perception TO ANYTHING the neurons involved in this action adapt and create stronger bonds, meaning if you TRAIN your perception it gets better and better.
So as it relates to hypertrophy when you make the connection between your brain and a specific muscle group more efficient, every single process in the muscle gets more efficient, motor unit recruitment, hormonal activity in the muscle, nutrients being shuttle to the muscle, LITERALLY EVERYTHING!
So TRAIN YOUR MIND-MUSCLE CONNECTION, there is a great exercise you can do RIGHT NOW to know which muscle groups you have the best potential for hypertrophy.
Without any resistance, just scan your body just using your mind— contract each muscle group at a time and focus your PERCEPTION towards it, deliberately generating a contraction in each muscle, the ones you can FEEL the most, are the ones you have better mind-muscle connection hence the better potential to hypertrophy.
Now, you can know which muscles you have the least connection with, and start working on building up your mind-muscle connection, MY BRUDDAH!
